SETsquared Exeter has played, and will continue to play, a crucial role in strengthening the innovation ecosystem of Devon.
By concentrating services and increasing accessibility, we have made it easier for businesses to take advantage of the region’s resources. We have enabled collaboration across research and financial institutions, local authorities, and innovation experts, resulting in knowledge exchange, new opportunities, and valuable insights, with 8 out of 10 employers stating that they have built invaluable networks.
We have helped build meaningful connections between the University of Exeter and external groups, strengthening partnerships and encouraging collaboration. 91% of organisations said they would be more likely to engage with the University in the future due to the UEEZ project.
Our reach has extended beyond Exeter, encompassing the whole of Devon, generating a ripple effect of growth and increased regional investment. Between May 2021 and December 2022, businesses supported by SETsquared Exeter successfully raised £3.7 million in investment and grants, and 3 out of 4 people were more optimistic about Exeter and Devon as a place to do business.
The UEEZ project has enabled businesses to achieve their objectives and feel confident in their business decisions, with 97% stating that it has equipped them with the skills, knowledge, and experience to start or grow a business.
Additionally, 97% of founders recognised that they would not have attained the same level of impact, quality, and speed without the aid of the accelerator.
